An FTZ status for foreign goods that locks in their tariff classification and value at the moment they are admitted to the zone, before any processing changes them. Duty is later paid at that original rate, even if the goods are manufactured into something else. Once granted, it can't be given up. Requested on CBP Form 214 (19 CFR 146.41).
